2018 Toyota Tacoma
The Toyota Tacoma has proven to be a favorite for its rugged capabilities and the wide amount of bed lengths and cab styles for those who have specific needs and tastes for their truck. While it carries the same reliability Toyota lovers have come to appreciate, there are some unique add-ons for this year’s model.
Compared to the Toyota Tundra, this is more of a midsize truck, with the options of rear or four-wheel drive configurations. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter I-4 with 159 horsepower and 180 lb per foot of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transition. EPA ratings for the base four-cylinder engine are 19/23 mpg city/highway for rear-drive models, and 19/22 mpg with four-wheel drive. The TRD Pro trip is a little less fuel-efficient, at 18/21 mpg with the manual and 17/20 mpg with the automatic.
Standard features of the 2018 Tacoma include:
- Cloth upholstery
- Toyota’s Entune multimedia system, with a 6.1-inch touchscreen, a USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, and a rearview camera
- 16-inch steel wheels
There’s also a wide set of different optional add-ons, including:
- Larger, 7.0-inch touchscreen
- JBL premium audio system
- Wireless phone charger
- Parking sensors
- 2-inch multi-information display
- Dual-zone climate control
- Leather upholstery
- Keyless entry/start
- Alloy wheels up to 18 inches in diameter
- Heated front seats
- Power-adjustable front seat
Consider upgrading even more with the TRD Pro trim. This brings several visual additions and new features, like Fox shocks, , a unique grille, LED lights, a TRD Pro skid plate, a TRD exhaust, and TRD Pro 16-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in all-terrain tires.
Another new innovation for the 2018 Tacoma is the Toyota Safety Sense-P as a standard. This feature suite includes collision warnings, lane departure warning, high beams, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian warning, and more.
Overall, the Tacoma makes for a great option for any truck fan, whether they need it for business purposes, want to travel, or just like driving in a larger vehicle.
